    For Linux:

    1. Download the files:


    In the 1.2 version of avr-libc, some functions have been removed: sbi, cbi, inb, outb, inp, outp, inw, outw, BV, PRG_RDB, eeprom_rb, eeprom_rw, eeprom_wb

    2. avr-gcc and avr-libc installation:

    The commands for installing avr-gcc and avr-libc in /usr/local/atmel/:

    [geoffroy@supercomputer home]$ tar xvzf binutils-2.16.tar.gz
    [geoffroy@supercomputer binutils-2.16]$ cd binutils-2.16/  
    [geoffroy@supercomputer binutils-2.16]$ ./configure --target=avr 
    --prefix=/usr/local/atmel
    [geoffroy@supercomputer binutils-2.16]$ make
    [geoffroy@supercomputer binutils-2.16]$ su
    [root@supercomputer binutils-2.16]# make install
    [root@supercomputer binutils-2.16]# exit
    [geoffroy@supercomputer binutils-2.16]$ cd ..

    [geoffroy@supercomputer home]$ export PATH=/usr/local/atmel/bin:$PATH

    [geoffroy@supercomputer home]$ tar xvjf gcc-core-3.4.4.tar.bz2
    [geoffroy@supercomputer home]$ cd gcc-3.4.4
    [geoffroy@supercomputer gcc-3.4.4]$ ./configure --target=avr 
    --prefix=/usr/local/atmel --enable-language=c --disable-nls
    [geoffroy@supercomputer gcc-3.4.4]$ make
    [geoffroy@supercomputer gcc-3.4.4]$ su
    [root@supercomputer gcc-3.4.4]# export PATH=/usr/local/atmel/bin:$PATH

    [root@supercomputer gcc-3.4.4]# exit

    [geoffroy@supercomputer home]$ tar xvjf avr-libc-1.2.5.tar.bz2
    [geoffroy@supercomputer avr-libc-1.2.5]$ cd avr-libc-1.2.5
    [geoffroy@supercomputer avr-libc-1.2.5]$ PREFIX=/usr/local/atmel ./doc

    [geoffroy@supercomputer avr-libc-1.2.5]$ su
    [root@supercomputer avr-libc-1.2.5]# export PATH=/usr/local/atmel/bin:

    3. uisp installation:

    Download uisp, unzip, ./configure, make, make install.

    For Windows:

    Install WinAVR and AVRStudio.
